Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani (BITS Pilani), one of India’s leading higher education institutes and a deemed university under Sec. 3 of the UGC act. BITS campus at Pilani, Rajasthan, was established through a Ford Foundation Grant and technical partnership with MIT (USA), and it was later recognised as a university in 1964.

There is no lateral admission done in the B.Tech course at BITS Pilani. For direct admission to the course, the candidates must have scored an aggregate of 75% of marks in the Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects. Only those candidates are shortlisted for the admission process. A merit list will be released based on the candidates’ combined performance in BITSAT (entrance exam conducted by the institute) and Class 12. The allocation of the seat will be based on the merit position of the candidates.

JEE Mains is not mandatory for taking admission in BITS Pilani. The applicant has passed the 12th examination of 10+2 system from a recognized Central or State board or its equivalent with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) and adequate proficiency in English. Also, the applicant needs to obtain a minimum of aggregate 75% marks in PCM in 12th examination, with at least 60% marks in each of the PCM subjects.
